All metrology laboratories have contact and exchanges with leading national metrology institutes (PTB in Germany, NPL UK, INRIM Italy, NIST in the USA, Japan NMIJ …) and represent their country in the bodies of the « Convention du mètre » (international Committee for Weights and Measures – CIPM Consultative Committees of the CIPM, …), and international and European bodies, such as EUROMET.
Some laboratories have a Committee of the Metrology body which makes recommendations on the scientific and strategic directions. This Committee ensures guide work in priority areas, enhancing complementary investments, and create, where possible, mixed units of researchers.
